The Medical Travel Summit offered a wealth of new information and standards and practices within the community of medical Tourism Facilitators. Medical Tourism has developed into an important industry for Costa Rica with resources from the Government devoted to raising standards and awareness, in addition to more and more powerful lobbying and standards groups such as the Promed Council of costa Rica the hosts of the summit. As the industry continues to grow expect standards and oversight to increase apace. The results of the maturation of this industry will mean higher standards and safer practices for patients overall.
