Health Insurance Woes: As Medical Tourism in Costa Rica becomes more attractive.
American health Insurers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield delivered some not very welcome Christmas news this year. Health insurance rate hikes as high as sixty percent across the board were mailed out on monday to many californian policy holders.
The Commissioner of Insurance waxed frustratedly, I have power over auto, home, life and other insurance hikes but not health care. Insurance providers claimed that the hikes had nothing to do with the impending implementation of so called “Obama Care” but the timing is suspicious to say the least.
Rising health Care costs are to blame is the reason behind such hikes but the bottom line is that a system that is beyond terrible things only seem to be getting worse.
Enter the Medical Tourism industry.
Already opponents of Medical tourism have begun using scare tactics to try to keep people captured in an unfair and corrupt system. The fact is bodies like the Joint Commission International, the worlds foremost and respected hospital accreditation organization that sets standards and rates care across the world has rated Costa Rica higher in overall quality of care than the United States. perhaps its time to find out for yourself why this is.
